The band Jackson Pines holds a special place in our hearts. Back when I was running Greetings From the Garden State, I had a long day of recording. First down at Donkey’s Place in Camden, NJ and then drove out to Jackson, NJ to James’s boghouse to record with Joe and James from Jackson Pines. Crisi and I had been dating for a few months and decided to come with me for the marathon day and we had such a great time.

We’ve remained in touch with the band and always try to go see them when they’re playing local. We saw they were playing with the awesome Ocean Avenue Stompers at the iconic Stone Pony for its 52nd Anniversary Celebration and had to grab some tickets.

What an amazing show! Jackson Pines had a great set with some of the newer music they’ve released recently and the Stompers absolutely crushed.

Afterwards, the two bands, plus other special guests joined together on stage and played for a good hour in one of the best jam sessions I’ve ever seen. A true Ocean Avenue Ramble.
